WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF MESOTHERAPY?

Pioneered by the French physician Dr. Michel Pistor in 1952, Mesotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure that is widely used in Europe and elsewhere to treat various injuries, aesthetic concerns, skin and body concerns and medical conditions. There are two types of mesotherapy:
• Traditional Mesotherapy
• Transdermal Mesotherapy
Traditional Mesotherapy uses needles to treat cellulite and resistant fat and is also used for anti-ageing therapies, including pigmentation treatment, hydration, scarring and general rejuvenation. Tiny “medicinal bullets” are delivered directly into the mesoderm (middle layer of skin) by micro injections that are highly specific to the condition being treated. Using this technique, active ingredients that are highly beneficial to the skin can be directly injected into the areas they are most needed.
Transdermal Mesotherapy is the newest and most innovative technology to administer a drug solution to a patient and uses FDA approved Dermo-electroporation®. Transdermal Mesotherapy treats all the same conditions that traditional mesotherapy does but without the use of needles.

Is it safe?
The safety of the procedure is dependent on who injects the Mesotherapy product and how it is injected. At Beauty and Curves, mesotherapy treatments are only performed by doctors and strict medical protocols adhered to.

What can I expect?
The entire procedure takes just 30 minutes, so you could easily have it done during your lunch hour. First we remove all make-up with a thorough cleansing, and then perform a superficial peel with alpha-hydroxy acids. This gently removes the uppermost layers of dead skin to improve penetration of the formula, and stimulates the skin’s basal layers, so speeding up rejuvenation. The vitamin cocktail is then introduced below the skin in the targeted areas.
For Traditional Mesotherapy for anti-aging there is no downtime at all. The skin may at best feel somewhat dry and tight for a day or two, but certainly no daily activities need to be in any way hindered by having a mesotherapy treatment.
There is no downtime or pain associated with Transdermal Mesotherapy. For facial rejuvenation, the results of the treatment are usually evident immediately post treatment as hyaluronic acid present in the rejuvenating solution attracts water into the skin/dermis for instant hydration. Epidermal changes are usually seen 10 days post treatment. The final results of each treatment are evident 2 to 3 months down the line when collagen production is completed. For best results 4 to 8 treatments are needed 2 weeks apart.
